About Us image
Nutrition and Metabolism Laboratory.

The Nutrition and Metabolism Laboratory is a group of researchers based at the Department of Food and Nutrition, Providence University, Taichung, Taiwan. Our team comprises of Professor Wu, graduate students (Ph.D. and Master's programs), and undergraduate students (independent study and internship) from Taiwan and overseas.

Our research focuses on preventing cancer and vascular diseases through Chinese medicine, herbs, vegetables, and fruits. We are particularly interested in the signal transduction of nutrition and metabolism in these areas.

What does our work?

Our laboratory focuses on major research fields that include:
1. The prevention and inhibition mechanism of cancer and cancer metastasis.
2. The prevention mechanism of vascular disease (including atherosclerosis and atherothrombosis)
3. The research and development of Chinese medicine and herb application in therapy diet, dietary supplement, and functional food.

We use in vitro, primary and cell line culture, and animal experimental models as our major study models. We also collaborate with clinical researchers from hospitals and universities on specific projects.
